Good bye New Zealand

Bis zum 3 Maerz war ich nun noch in NZ unterwegs. Erst ein paar Tage auf der Suedinsel in Christchurch und danach ganz im Norden in der Bay of Islands.

Most of the South Island is clean, windy and often rather cool. 

This wunderful colors of the water are the bays south of Christchurch. Here I was some hours on a sailing ship and was so happy to see all the small Hectordolfins swimming around us.

Millions of Years ago some vulcanoes erupted here and left mountains and many beautiful bays full of dolfins, seals, small blue pinguins and shags

On the north Island are some of the Kauritrees left. The british people cut down all the forests in the 19.th century. Most of the huge Kauri trees are destroyed. A small forest north west of the North Island is still here. Among all the other trees live this giants of the world, over 37 meters high and about 8 meters from rihgt to left side. This tree is about 2000 years old.  The people gathered the gum of the old trees in the soil. Its a sort of amber but softer. I couldn't get some fresh gum, i think it would be a wunderful inscent.

Nach einem wieder mal traenenreichen Abschied  in Auckland flog ich nach Hawaii.

Im Flugzeug las ich dann auch noch ein trauriges Buch und heulte gleich weiter. Die Stewardessen wuselten nur so herum, sie dachten wohl ich heule weil sie mein vegetarisches Essen verschusselt hatten. So bekam ich all die Leckereien aus der 1. Klasse war auch prima.

Hier noch ein Rezept:

In Waitangi einem aeusserst geschichtstraechtigen Ort noerdlich von Auckland bekam ich folgendes Essen:

Am Tellerrand:

eine sosse aus Olivenoel und Zitronen kleine Tomaten und geroestete Makademias

In der Mitte:

erste Schicht:  Brei aus Wasabibohnen mit Sahne

2. Schicht:        kleine Papadams wenig gewuerzt

3. Schicht:        lauwarmer Salat aus (alles kleingeschnitten) 

geraeucherten Makrelen

Aepfeln

Spinatblaettern roh

Makademias geroestet

Dattelstuecke

Rucula

4. Papadam

usw.

bis ein kleiner Turm entsteht.

Das war das Beste Essen, das ich seit Indien hatte

ja und dann noch fish and chips in einem kleinen Dorf

1 ganze Flunder, Chips

alles in Papier eingewickelt fuer 4 Euro

Birgit wohl ein bisschen hungrig, gehe gleich einkaufen
